I Love New Hampshire

Live free, or DIE!

Jimmy, Timmy, and myself had the long weekend off, and it was time for a camping trip. We hadn’t been out beyond the winding trails on Tim’s land in several weeks (or months!), so at about 6:00 PM on Friday, the three of us made plans to be packed and ready to go within the hour. Our destination: The White Mountain National Forest, deep in the heart of New Hampshire, with snow planned all weekend. Jim sped over from Dalton and picked us up in the Subaru, we chucked all our camping gear in the trunk, and headed north in the dead of night.

This trip might be the start of a new discipline called Handi-Camping, since Tim was recovering from an injury, I was recovering from surgery, and we all ended up nursing minor hangovers. Still, it was one of the best trips we’ve been on in a long time. Long nights were spent eating bacon out of titanium mugs, re-enacting The Revenant, complaining/bragging about our S.O.’s, planning for the ‘apocalypse’ campsite following the fall of humanity, and other mature, responsible behavior.

Check out the photo reel from our trip, and then pack your bag and get to the Whites!

  1. Wow looks like fun! I wish we had the beautiful snow you guys have there. Here we had a layer of ice, followed by snow, followed by melt and rain that created a sheen of ice over everything white. Peculiar winter for us for sure! Usually iowa is a bit like Mass, even a little colder and snowier:/

    1. Have you been doing your snow dance? The winter is just beginning… Back in MA, there was no snow at all, so I am glad we went to the snow.

It did rain the second night, but we were having too good a time to worry about it. We just got wet!
