Photo Journal: Gulf Road, Dalton MA

I found a dirt connection road right next to the trailhead of the Appalachian Trail. Beautiful road, with winding curves and steep hills and some intense rockslide debris on either side. There was even a bit of snow up there… Go figure.

Sometimes, just following these without intent or purpose is the best part of getting anywhere. I was headed from Dalton to North Adams, but this detour was worth every minute.

Ha! Closed!

In a lot of places, it felt like I was on a dirt river through a mountainous valley.
Curves are beautiful.
A few downed trees gave me that warm feeling that comes with not being in a car.
Impressive rockslides!
Some very patriotic graffiti. Let’s roll!

Keep Riding,
